Chevrolet Reveals Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype at Daytona

Just before this year's “legendary DAYTONA 500 race,” Chevrolet showcased its Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype. Although it didn't see actual racing, the prototype previewed tomorrow's electric race cars. Here's a summary of its key highlights.

High-Performance Electric Powertrain

Replacing the traditional V8, the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype boasts an all-electric powertrain. Its three six-phase motors deliver around 1,300 horsepower and spin to a blistering 15,000 rpm.

Power management is handled by a programmable all-wheel drive system, ensuring accurate torque delivery. It rides on a modified Next Gen chassis equipped with track-ready suspension and Goodyear Racing Eagle tires.

True Race Car Styling

Based on the “road-going Chevrolet Blazer SS EV,” the EV.R's racing enhancements stand out. A broad body and prominent rear wing maximize aerodynamic efficiency, and its very low stance helps cornering performance.

Motorsports Innovation

The EV.R NASCAR Prototype serves as a testbed for cutting-edge technologies that will influence both future racing efforts and production models.
