2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV

What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV?

The Chevrolet Bolt EV has been delivering a lot of value for about half a decade now. It is one of the most affordable, fully electric cars in the market while supplying a long driving range. For 2021, not much has changed-apart from the addition of DC Fast Charging on the higher-level 2LT trim.

2021 Bolt EV Trims & Features

Designed and marketed as a five-door subcompact hatchback, the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV is split into 1LT and 2LT trim levels. Two rows of cloth-trimmed seats for up to five people is standard. Front-seat heating and ventilation, rear-seat heating, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating ability appear at the 2LT trim level.

For infotainment, the Bolt EV gets a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, a Wi-Fi hotspot, two USB ports and an audio jack for hooking up mobile devices, three months of SiriusXM Radio, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen. Keyless open and start make it very easy to start or access the vehicle. At the 2LT trim level, you gain auto-dimming ability on the rearview mirror.

2021 Bolt EV Horsepower

The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV has a powertrain that features a 200-horsepower electric motor and a single-speed automatic transmission, with a lithium-ion battery pack for power. The 2LT has DC Fast Charging capability, which means you can charge the battery up to 100 miles in 30 minutes. The car's fuel economy is EPA-rated at 127 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (mpg-e) in the city and 108 mpg-e on the highway, and the battery range is estimated at 259 miles.

Bolt EV Safety

The Bolt EV includes a rear vision camera that flashes an HD image when moving in reverse to monitor what's behind you. You'll get cruise control to set a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and LED daytime running lamps to make you more conspicuous to pedestrians and other motorists. For protection, if there's a crash, the car can deploy any of 10 airbags.

A greater level of driver assistance awaits you at the 2LT level, which provides lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The rear vision camera is replaced by a 360-degree HD surround-view camera system enhanced by rear parking sensors for aural cues. A rear camera mirror is added to allow you to switch between the camera display and the one from the rearview mirror.
