What's New for the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

The 2022 model year brings a new look for the Chevy Equinox, which primarily gets refreshed styling on the outside and changes to its appearance. The Equinox gets notable design changes from front to back, including a refreshed front grille, a new headlight design, LED daytime running lights, and an updated fascia. The Equinox also has a new line of exterior paint color choices, and there are some changes to specific models as well, such as the RS trim and the Premier trim. The RS gets dark 19-inch wheels, and the Premier now has more chrome touches. Heated side mirrors are another welcome upgrade for the Equinox in 2022.

2022 Equinox Trims & Features

The Chevy Equinox comes in a lineup of four trim levels. The SUV's base trim is the L. Next is the LS, which is followed by the LT and the Premier. The LS has standard 17-inch alloy wheels. Heated mirrors, a new feature for the Equinox in 2022, are also standard on the base trim. Keyless entry is included across the board. With the base trim comes a seven-inch touchscreen interface with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A WiFi hotspot is standard, and the base trim has four USB charge ports. The LS trim has upgraded floor mats and a spare tire. A power-adjustable driver's seat is standard, along with tinted rear privacy glass. The third trim level, called the LT, has upgraded LED headlights on the front end. Satellite radio is also included, and the LT gets upscale chrome touches along the outside. The top trim level, which is the Premier, brings even more standard amenities to the table. Heated front seats are standard, along with a power liftgate and dual-zone climate control. This trim also upgrades to leather seating, and it adds a 120V household-style power charging outlet. Wireless charging is another upgrade for the Premier.

2022 Chevrolet Equinox Horsepower

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox has the same engine beneath its hood as the Equinox in 2021. The 2022 model year has a four-cylinder engine with a 1.5L displacement. This engine is capable of 170 HP and up to 203 LB-FT of torque. Automatic transmission with six speeds is Chevy's standard drivetrain. Although front-wheel drive is standard, most trims can get all-wheel drive instead.

Chevrolet Equinox Safety

The base safety package on the Chevy Equinox contains a rear-seat reminder, lane departure mitigation, and forward collision avoidance. Blind-spot monitoring and rear parking sensors are available additions with a package.
