Chevrolet wants to make sure you drive home a happy owner of a new car and that you stay that way for a long time. Chevrolet equips its new vehicles with standard factory warranties to ensure your happiness and satisfaction with a new car purchase. These warranties include coverage to repair or replace components at no cost that shouldn't breakdown during normal use in the first few years of ownership. The automaker's warranties include the powertrain, emissions, standard components, and special coverage for hybrid and electric models.

Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty

One comprehensive factory warranty that comes with every new Chevrolet is the Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. This warranty will cover costs associated with parts repair and replacement for up to 36 months or 36,000 miles. No deductible is required, and the cost of labor is included under covered components with this warranty.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

Chevrolet also has a Powertrain Limited Warranty that provides coverage on most new Chevys for up to five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Diesel-powered vehicles are also covered with this warranty, including the 1500 series of light-duty trucks and the 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty truck series with diesel engines, for the first 5 years or 100.000 miles.

Emission Control System Warranty

The Emission Control System Warranty covers costs associated with replacing or repairing parts and all required labor for up to two years or 24,000 miles on cars and light-duty trucks. Trucks with heavy-duty engines are covered for five years or 50,000 miles. And specified major components are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Warranty

Along with the standard factory warranties above, Chevrolet's electric and hybrid vehicles have an additional warranty. In addition to the Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty, hybrid and electric cars are warrantied for up to eight years or 100,000 miles. Many of their components are included in the warranty, covering costs for repairing or replacing parts, specifically electric propulsion components.

MPP Plans

Although Chevrolet's new vehicles have considerable protection through the automaker's standard warranties, some drivers find that they want a bit more coverage. Extended warranty plans available from Reliable Chevrolet include MPP, lease wear protection, and GAP coverage. Plans are also available for cars that are not included in Chevrolet's factory warranty program due to their age.
