Specs at a Glance

The Chevrolet Colorado is a versatile mid-size pickup truck that comes with outstanding design and durability along with maneuverability that owners won't find in larger vehicles. The Colorado comes in two versions, the Crew Cab and the Extended Cab, both of which will provide you with the comfort and class that you want and need.

Are There a Difference in Performance?

Performance between the Crew Cab and the Extended Cab is relatively the same. Both models are available with two-wheel or four-wheel drive. A four-cylinder gas engine is standard in both, as is an upgraded V6 gas engine. The single difference is that the extended cab is available with the GM-exclusive Duramax 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel engine. The direct injection V6 engine produces a best-in-class 308 horsepower with 275-lb.-ft. of torque.

The four-wheel drive version for both has the ability to tow a maximum 7,000 when equipped with the ZR2 Trim. Payload is relatively the same, with the Crew Cab just edging out the Extended Cab at 1,548 pounds to the Extended Cab's maximum load of 1,532 pounds.

Rugged Exterior Appearance

The Colorado is built for durability, yet it is also designed for your personality. Each version has a fully boxed frame, a corner step rear bumper and corner hand grips, four standard and 13 additional tie downs, inlaid triple-sealed doors, and a thick windshield and side glass.

The biggest difference in the exterior of the Crew Cab and the Extended Cab is in the exterior dimensions. The Crew Cab has a wheelbase of 140.5 inches with an overall length of 224.9 inches. For the Extended Cab, you'll get a wheelbase of 128.3 inches and an overall length of 212.7 inches. Length of the cargo box for both is 74 inches.

Interior Comfort and Features

The Colorado Crew Cab and Extended Cab share many outstanding interior features. One of the most important for your work day is that 4G LTE is standard on most trims for both versions. You'll also enjoy a heated steering wheel, cloth or leather-appointed heated front seats and a Bose sound system. If you're looking for larger dimensions room in the back seat, choose the Crew Cab as it fits five passengers instead of four and has slightly roomier measurements for head, leg and hip room. The Crew Cab can even double as a second family vehicle when needed.
