Chevrolet Corvette Celebrates Its 70th Anniversary

The longest-running nameplate of any vehicle now on the road, the Corvette, will celebrate its 70th birthday in 2023. Corvette has pushed the limits of technology, performance, and flair for eight generations while staying an approachable cultural icon.

A unique 70th Anniversary Edition package will be offered for the Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 models for the 2023 model year to mark this occasion.

According to Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet marketing, Corvette is loved by Chevrolet. This anniversary is doubly memorable because of the enthusiasm and sales success we've achieved with the eighth generation of America's legendary sports car. Corvette still sends kids dreaming of the open road even after 70 years.

The wheels of the Corvettes in the 70th Anniversary Edition are distinctive and have commemorative wheel center caps. Although the wheels for the Stingray and Z06 are different from one another, they both have a black finish and an Edge Red stripe.

Drivers will find two-tone Ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats, red seatbelts, red stitching, and a suede microfiber steering wheel inside the cockpit.

Corvette is Supporting Military Families

Since its founding in Detroit in 1911, Chevrolet has grown. It has become one of the world's top automakers, with more than 3.2 million vehicles and trucks expected to be sold worldwide by 2020. Models from Chevrolet include electrified and fuel-efficient cars with exhilarating performance, heart-pounding design, passive and active safety features, and simple-to-use technology, all at an affordable price.

The 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette Z06 will be the first retail-produced mid-engine Corvette ever. On Saturday, January 29, 2022, VIN 001 of this eagerly awaited special edition Corvette Z06 will be put up for auction at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, with all proceeds going to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit dedicated to creating military families that can thrive rather than scrape by in the communities they have devoted their lives to defending.

Chevrolet has proudly supported Operation Homefront since 2017. Chevrolet has donated funds for services and seven full-size Silverado trucks to the group's six regional offices and headquarters.

Oliver Gavin, a legendary former Corvette Racing driver, will make a special appearance and drive the substitute 2023 Corvette Z06 across the auction block.
